Welcome to my site!

My name is Kirk Shannon and I'm a Graphic Designer from New Brunswick, Canada. My main area of focus tends to be Flash but I also spend a good amount of time digital painting and doodling. When I'm doing none of those things it's all about WoW:)

I've spent the majority of my career so far in the eLearning industry but have dabbled in a few start-up video game companies as well. I also snag some freelance work here and there.

This site is but days old and I have thrown it together with the help of my girlfriend Krista in a few days. So even though I use Flash almost daily I don't have any on this site, go figure. Once I have more time I will be adding "Flash" and "Graphics" sections to the upper menu to showcase some of my eLearning oriented graphic design work.

This is a digital painting I did for me Ma. "Ah, how sweet!"

In case you can't guess what the creature is on the left it is an elephant. I forgot to paint in a hint of a tusk before I had "finalized" the piece so it may be confusing. Hindsight is always 20/20 eh?

It took me about 4 hours to complete including the sketch. As usual I used references because I believe you can not rightly understand the colours, textures and shapes of what you're painting unless you can see the real deal. Although I'm sure an abstract artist would argue otherwise:)
